Belly Dance is an expressive art form. The Dancer expresses what the music is telling her.
It is called "Dance Oriental" and "Raqs Sharqi" in the East.
In 1889 when Turkish dancers were brought to the San Francisco Fair and in 1893 at the Chicago's World Fair. Here is where westerners gave it the name Belly Dance.
From centuries past, the travelers who passed through the myriad of countries and cities in the East would admire these cultures and dances with writings, poems, paintings and songs. This has led to the many different styles of Belly Dance we have today.
Young girls were taught these dances from their mothers and grandmothers. This very feminine form of dance belongs to every woman. The movements suit the female form. Women dance to celebrate the bodies they have been blessed with and to show joy and excitement for thier family, friends, community and culture.

I am a Belly Dance performer, instructor and choreographer. I have over 15 years of Belly Dance experience. Performances on and off stage. For belly grams, parties, birthdays, weddings, charities, events, cons, cultural events and with local belly dance schools in Chattanooga. I have studied from local dance teachers and award winning teacher Shemiran Ibrahim from Australia, along with other well known dancers such as, Donna Mejia, Mira Betz , Zoe Jakes & Elizabeth Strong.
I dance and teach a fusion of styles: traditional Egyptian, Turkish and Improvisational Tribal with a big Modern Flair... also with emphasis on Personal Improvisation and Rhythm.
I teach classes starting at a basic beginner level, up to advanced, and I choreograph songs for individuals and groups.

Belly Grams .................... What is a BellyGram?
A Belly Gram is a mini belly dance performance. Usually, it lasts up to 20 minutes long...or so. The dancer will dance to 3 songs, maybe 4, there may be a veil entrance, traditional Belly Dancing, a drum solo, and for the final dance the dancer will encourage the guest of honor to get up and dance also.
You will receive an exciting, mystical Belly Dancer that comes to your location. I will encourage Joy and Laughter throughout the room. The dancing and Joy are dedicated to the guest of honor and their friends for a wonderful and fun memory!
Belly Gram prices start at $90.00. The price of a Belly Gram may go up depending on driving distance, props used, and if you would like multiple dancers.
